We Are All Alike, We Are All Different

Dear Families,

As you know, we have been learning about and celebrating how we are all alike and how we are all different. We love that we all have different color eyes, different hair color and styles, wear different clothes, speak different languages, have different color skin and we all come from different families and places. We are the same too! We all are together in KG, we all have noses, we all need to eat food, we all speak English, we all laugh, cry and love others! Same, same but different. What a wonderful world!

We hope you enjoy these special projects we are sharing with you today. :-)

The World In Our Classroom
Self-Portraits

It's Okay to Be Different
Inspired by Todd Parr

We have another exciting new adventure we have just begun! We are taking part in a project called "Global Kindergarten Connections". We have partnered up with four other Kindergarten classes around the world to learn about what it is like to live and go to school in Japan, Minnesota/USA, Hawaii/USA and Spain. In the next few weeks we will share what life is like in various parts of the world. We will compare how going to school in Japan, the U.S. and Spain might be the same and different from our lives here in Oman. Teachers and students will share their experiences by creating, uploading and viewing digital content shared in a Global Journal on an app called Seesaw. Only teacher participants in this project will have access to the journal.

The video of our Self-Portraits above is an example of something we shared for this project. I also shared a video of our classroom and we posted a picture of our class and then narrated to tell our new friends a little bit about us...We even taught our new friends how to say hello in Arabic! We have had a lot of fun already!

Have a great weekend!

xx Ms. Cori
