Dear Families,
Welcome back to school.
I love Kindergarten and I am so happy YOU are part of our class!
It was a fun and busy first few days in KG. :-) I am sure your child was more tired out than usual at home after school this week! We had a great week getting to know each other. The children are already learning each other's names and have been playing, singing, drawing, writing, counting and pretending so well together! They have quickly learned all of their morning 'jobs' (unpacking their Home folders, putting their water bottle in the bin, and signing-in). This group is cooperative, eager to learn and so creative. Ms. Dora and I have enjoyed getting to know each child and look forward to an amazing year together in Kindergarten.
Welcome to our classroom website/blog. This site is a great way for you to find out what we've been doing in the classroom. I often post an update like this at the end of the week with the highlights from the week or other KG related information. Next week, be sure to look in your child's Home folder for the Parent Blog Permission slip (green paper) to sign and return to me. After I receive all of the permission forms, I will be able to post photos of the children busy at school. Be sure to stay tuned...
At the bottom of our class website, there is a place for you to sign up to "Follow by Email". After typing in your email address and the FeedBurner code, be sure to go to your email and click the link provided to accept the blog subscription. If you do so, you will get an email (sent to the address you sign up with) whenever I add a new post. Following our website is the best way to find out what we are up to in KG. Plus, there are usually really cute photos of your darling kids in action!
Be sure to have your child share his/her Poetry Songbook with you this weekend. After you finish singing Ram Sam Sam, tuck the Songbook back into your child's backpack---ready to return to school. Poetry Songbooks will go home each Thursday and should be returned the following school day. Your child also brought home a new book "My Kindergarten Friends" to read to you this weekend. This book is for you to keep at home. Enjoy!
We had a great FIRST week in KG and are off to a fun start to the new school year!
I am looking forward to a year of love, laughter and learning...together.
Again, Welcome to Kindergarten!
Sincerely,
xx Ms. Cori
p.s. First week photos...COMING SOON!
